Estate agent follows in father’s footsteps with industry appointment

David Adams with Anna Horne

Chester estate agent Anna Horne has followed in her father’s footsteps after joining the committee of the Chester Association of Property Professionals (CAPP).

Horne, a sales negotiator at Cavendish, takes over from the agency’s managing director, David Adams, who has stepped down after 16 years on the committee.

Her father, Alex Horne, is also a former chairman of CAPP and a longstanding figure in Chester’s property industry.

Adams stood down at the association’s AGM on 2 November, bringing an end to more than a decade and a half of involvement.

He previously chaired the organisation and most recently served as past chair.

Founded in November 1949, CAPP was originally known as the Chester Association of Auctioneers, Estate Agents and Valuers.

The organisation represents local property professionals and provides continuing professional development (CPD), networking opportunities and industry events.

Horne will join a committee that already includes Cavendish colleague Annie O’Brien, the firm’s lettings development manager, who serves as membership secretary.

Adams welcomed the appointment.

“I am delighted to be passing the baton to Anna who will bring with her fresh ideas and a desire to continue promoting the property profession in Chester.

“It is also fitting that Anna joins the committee, following in the footsteps of her father Alex who was also a longstanding member and past Chair.”

Horne added: “I am thrilled to have been asked to join the CAPP committee and am looking forward to helping to ensure that it continues to go from strength to strength and remains as important and invaluable as ever to its members.”
