The Society of Licensed Conveyancers to hold conference in Derby

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers will be holding its annual conference on 2 November in Derby.

Kate Faulkner will be hosting the conference again this year and the society has also announced that the speakers joining presenting will include Dame Janet Paraskeva (CLC Chair), Simon Hayes (HM Land Registry Chief Registrar) Paul McFadden (Chief Ombudsman at LEO) and Matthew Hall (CEO at the LSB), as well as Hannah Mackinlay, Rob Hailstone (Bold Legal Group), Andrew Parkin (PEPA), Miles Shipside (Rightmove), Claire Richardson (CLC) and Sian Harvey on stress management.

Simon Law, chairperson of the Society, said: “Following the success of last year’s event, we are back at the Riverside Centre again and have a great line-up of speakers to talk about the regulatory environment, on-going professional competency, case handling by the Legal Ombudsman and HMLR registrations.

“Other sessions will include Stress in Workplace, Energy Efficiency in homes and forthcoming legislation and National Conveyancing Week in 2023. However, this year, is a little bit different (but we believe more interesting) as we will also be holding breakout sessions for those that wish to attend them on: Leasehold, EPCs, setting up your own business and the SLC Client Guides.”

He continued: “We have a great line up of speakers and sponsors, and it promises to be an engaging, informative, and interactive CPD event. Our Conference is free for all members and non-members can book a place at a specially discounted rate until the end of September.”
