Television presenter Phil Spencer will join John Reynolds, co-founder and COO of transaction technology platform Coadjute, in a Rightmove webinar designed to help agents tackle fall-throughs, the property portal has announced.
Taking place on Thursday 23rd July, the webinar will explore the causes of delays and failed transactions in the home-moving process, and highlight strategies for alleviating the risks, such as greater collaboration, better information sharing and innovation.
In addition, the session will examine the role agents play in maintaining customer confidence when delays occur, particularly when many of the causes sit outside an agent’s direct control.
Also under discussion will be new Rightmove research into the home-moving process, which found that communication can matter more than speed.
When asked which estate agent they would be more likely to recommend, 80% of movers chose an agent whose sale took longer than hoped but who kept them informed throughout the process. By comparison, just 3% would recommend an agent whose sale completed quickly but left them in the dark.
Jason Charles, head of education at Rightmove, said: “While many of the causes of delays and fall-throughs sit outside an agent’s direct control, they play a critical role in keeping customers informed, maintaining confidence and helping transactions progress.
“Fall-throughs remain one of the most frustrating parts of the journey for both agents and their customers. By bringing together expert voices like Phil Spencer and John Reynolds, alongside real examples and consumer insight, we hope this webinar will give agents practical, achievable ways to improve the process.”
Agents can register to attend and submit questions in advance via the Rightmove Hub.

What does Phil Spencer understand about fall-through that others, better qualified, don’t?
Just asking.
