Savills welcomes Career Ready students

Savills welcomed school and college students for work experience in London, Birmingham and Bristol this summer as part of its partnership with Career Ready, a UK-wide social mobility charity which invests in young people with diverse backgrounds.

Since partnering with Career Ready in 2019, Savills colleagues have contributed towards the charity’s mission to prioritise those who need their support most through a number of initiatives. These have included joining the charity’s mentor programme, leading workshops online and running masterclasses, all of which have offered knowledge and insight to inspire young people to kick-start a rewarding future. The introduction of work experience forms a new and exciting phase in the partnership.

During their time with Savills, young people joined a variety of teams including business development, social media, global residential development consultancy, property management, retail and valuation.

Throughout the week, they were able to gain a practical understanding of the world of work and by undertaking dedicated projects, attending meetings and engaging with those around them, students were able to learn about the breadth of careers available within the property industry. To bring their time with Savills to a close, each presented on a relevant subject matter.

Richard Rees, UK managing director at Savills, commented: “As part of our partnership with Career Ready, we are extremely proud to be contributing towards their mission of transforming young lives, boosting social mobility and giving undiscovered talent a platform from which to flourish.

“We look forward to continuing to develop this collaboration across the UK and to be able to play a role in inspiring the workforce of tomorrow.”
