Mint Property Finance has launched an academy aimed at people looking to move into property development.

The First Time Developers Academy will provide training on development finance, including what lenders look for when assessing applications and how prospective developers can prepare before seeking funding.

The programme will include online resources, monthly training articles and quarterly sessions featuring case studies and Q&As, as well as twice-yearly networking events.

The academy was launched by Mint head of credit Sam Herd, who believes first-time developers need more than finance alone to succeed.

He said: “Every experienced developer once submitted their first development finance application.

“We believe specialist lenders have an opportunity not only to fund the next generation of developers, but to help create them.

“By combining education with practical insight and funding expertise, we’re giving aspiring developers the confidence to take that first step.”
