Radio presenter Winifred Robinson to speak at TPO conference

The Property Ombudsman scheme has announced that BBC Radio 4 presenter Winifred Robinson will be joining its national conference on October 12 as panellist.

Winifred will join the already confirmed line-up of property professionals, to provide a consumer’s viewpoint in a debate on estate agency generally.

Winifred has been a regular presenter of the Today programme and has also presented The World Today at the BBC World Service.

In 2000, Winifred joined You and Yours, a programme which has built a reputation for investigative journalism.

Gerry Fitzjohn, chairman of TPO, said:We are delighted to welcome Winifred to our panel. Her investigative journalism and work on one of the BBC’s flagship consumer affairs programmes makes her a great asset to the Conference panel, which already includes a number of industry leaders.”

Winifred said: The price of property and the shortage of affordable housing is the biggest consumer story of our time. House prices continue to rise way above the rate of inflation and have locked a generation out of home ownership. At the same the internet has revolutionised the way homes are sold.

“The Property Ombudsman remains an important service for consumers and I’m really delighted to be part of this event.”

Appearing on the same panel will be Kate Faulkner, Mark Hayward, Leon Livermore, James Munro and Eric Walker.
