Fantastic four swim overnight to France to raise money for agent’s charity

Congratulations to a fantastic foursome who swam the Channel last Thursday night to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.

Greg Wood, Jason Ransley, Paul Hancock and Stuart Parris took part in the relay swim to France, raising funds for the Northwood Charitable Foundation.

They took nine hours and 27 minutes, experienced severe sea sickness and contended with lots of jellyfish.

The Northwood Charitable Foundation was established in memory of Northwood managing director Nick Cooper, who died three years ago.

The Foundation, which works closely with the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, has so far raised £45,000.

The cross-Channel relay swim has been the most ambitious fund-raising event yet.

A very proud Eric Walker, managing director at Northwood, paid tribute to the team on Twitter yesterday, saying: “Why can’t you run the marathon like normal madmen? Well done to the team – immense effort albeit insane.”
