Agents Giving is urging estate and letting agents to dust off their bikes, dig out the Lycra – if they dare – and clock up some miles for charity this October.
The charity wants 1,000 property professionals to take part in the Great British Property Cycle Challenge 2026.
The nationwide fundraiser will run throughout October. This year, money raised will support the British Heart Foundation and Heartbeat Trust UK. The campaign will also help efforts to provide more defibrillators in local communities.
Best of all, there is no need to start training for the Tour de France.
There is no set route and no minimum distance. Participants can cycle 10 miles or 100, head outdoors or use a static bike at the gym.
Alternatively, agents can take part individually, recruit family and friends or get the whole branch involved. Firms could even turn it into an office-to-office challenge.
In short: your challenge, your distance, your way.
Agents urged to make their miles matter
Meanwhile, Agents Giving hopes to harness estate agency’s presence in communities across the UK to raise money and awareness of cardiac emergencies.
Up to 100,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the UK each year. As a result, rapid CPR and access to a defibrillator can prove particularly important.
David Newnes, chairman of Agents Giving, said: “We want 1,000 people from across the property industry to get involved – but our real ambition is to see estate agency offices everywhere getting on their bikes.
“You don’t have to be a cyclist. Get your team together, set your own challenge and make your miles matter.
“It’s easy to take part and, together, we can make a real difference in our communities.”
The Great British Property Cycle Challenge runs throughout October. Importantly, the event also takes place across Restart a Heart Day on 16 October.
So, whether you’re a weekend cyclist, a reluctant gym-goer or haven’t been on two wheels since childhood, there is an excuse to get back in the saddle.
Ultimately, every mile counts. So, on your bike – and make those miles matter. Register here.
