Property redress provider Hamilton Fraser launches training academy

Commercial insurance firm and redress provider Hamilton Fraser is entering the education space with the launch of a training academy.

It is launching the Hamilton Fraser Academy next month, which will provide a series of half and full day workshops to offer property professionals advice and education covering the full tenancy lifecycle.

Held at its offices in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, the first course, titled “legal update and compliance,” will be hosted by Susie Crolla of The Letting Training Centre on November 22nd and has already been sold out, with another date added on December 13th.

This course will cover GDPR, HMO regulation, the tenant fee ban Fee Ban, the Deregulation Act 2015, Form 6A (formerly section 21) and Immigration Act 2016.

It costs £149 plus VAT.

Upcoming topics for next year include “future proofing your letting business” and “day to day letting and management.”

Agents who attend the courses will gain CDP points and a certificate of training.

Eddie Hooker, chief executive of Hamilton Fraser, said: “With the private rented sector having undergone a significant amount of change over the last year, and with more to come in the year ahead, letting agents and landlords are looking more closely at how they can improve and adapt their businesses to meet the requirements of the market and ensure they are compliant.

“With so much conflicting information, we know that the industry can be very confusing, so we have designed a series of workshops hosted by property professionals with years of experience to help agents get it right.”

The last email forwarded to me from the letting training centre stated it was a legal requirement to serve by the 1st October 2018 a copy of the EPC, HTR  and GSR on all those tenancies which started prior to 1st Oct 2015.

This caused some panic to some agents I work with until I explained it was wrong advice  and there was no need for those tenancies.
