NAVA to run training for Nigerian auctioneers

An auctioneering ‘masterclass’ has attracted delegates from Nigeria.

The National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers is running a three-day training programme for 24 delegates from the Certified Institute of Auctioneers of Nigeria.

The event will be held over three days this month in Birmingham, and will include training in chattels auctioneering as well as property auctioneering.

The latter training will be run by former NAVA chairman Guy Charrison alongside his predecessor, Melfyn Williams.

The event will also feature guest speaker David Sandeman, from the Essential Information Group, who will share experiences of best practice that can be adopted internationally.

This MUST be a late April Fool joke.

I'll bet the Nigerians have offered to pay NAVA £27,000,000 for the training "…which will be joyfully deposited in the bank account of their honourable chosing as soon as the details of same are received by gracious email facilitation."

WOW!! Just checked the website for CIoAN.

I can become a FCAI for only £259. Photocopied 'credentials' accepted. No interview or examinations.

They even give you the bank account details in which to deposit the payment.

How easy and how helpful is THAT?
