First Guild conference since easyProperty a complete sell-out

The Guild of Property Professionals, whose parent company merged with easyProperty last year, is gearing up to mark its 25th anniversary with its 2018 conference next week.

The event, being held at Westminster Bridge County Hall on Thursday, February 1, has sold out more than two weeks before the event.

Iain McKenzie, chief executive of the Guild, said it was the first time that places have sold out so quickly and they didn’t get a chance to finish personally contacting agents to tell them about the event before the 400-plus places were all snapped up.

The conference will include updates on the direction of the Guild, and strategies to maximise lettings results with Sally Lawson, president of ARLA. The Guild’s in-house compliance officer, Paul Offley, will brief agents on the impact of the incoming data protection changes, GDPR, and Anthony Codling, managing director at analysts Jefferies, will shine a light on industry results.

Dorian Beresford will look at one of the Guild’s upcoming offerings – the new homes campaign – and rugby legend Gavin Hastings will give a motivational speech on the importance of teamwork, both on the pitch and in the office.

McKenzie said: “It is testament to the growth of The Guild over the last 12 months that so many members have booked their places to our annual conference.

“We have got a great day lined up, full of insights, agency tips and motivational speakers, and I am sure that all the attendees will have a fantastic day, finished off with the much-anticipated Guild awards and gala dinner in the evening.”
