As England prepares for its World Cup knockout match against DR Congo today, Yopa has launched a fundraising campaign aimed at helping grassroots organisations raise additional income.

The estate agency’s Fund the Future initiative enables schools, sports clubs, charities and community organisations to generate funding by encouraging supporters to display a Yopa sponsorship board outside their home. For every board installed, Yopa donates £12 directly to the participating organisation.

The campaign has already supported 36 organisations, with almost 1,400 sponsorship boards displayed and more than £17,000 raised.

According to Yopa, most organisations secure between 20 and 90 boards, generating between £240 and £1,080. Larger campaigns have attracted around 300 boards, raising up to £3,600.

The funds can be used to purchase sports equipment, support coaching programmes, cover venue hire and first aid costs, or help reduce participation fees for young people taking part in grassroots sport.

Yopa said it hopes the additional interest generated by England’s progress in the World Cup will encourage more community organisations and supporters to participate in the initiative.

Verona Frankish, CEO of Yopa, commented: “Major sporting events like the World Cup have an incredible ability to bring nations and communities together, and we wanted to harness that enthusiasm to create a lasting local legacy.

“Grassroots organisations are the backbone of communities across the UK, but many continue to face significant financial pressures. Through Fund the Future, we’re giving local people a simple way to support the organisations that matter most to them, simply by displaying a sponsorship board outside their home.

“Every board helps generate funding that can be invested back into local facilities, equipment, coaching, and opportunities for young people. Whether it’s buying new football boots, replacing worn-out kit, or helping keep participation affordable, these small contributions quickly add up to make a meaningful difference.”
