Estate agency holds golf day in memory of founding partner

A hospice has received nearly £3,000 from an estate agent after a golf day held in memory of one of their founding partners.

Mishon Mackay handed the money over to Martlets Hospice in Hove.

It was their third annual golf day in memory of Glenn Mishon, with 20 teams taking part.

Glenn Mishon died in July 2012 of skin cancer at the age of 56.

He and his business partner Alex Mackay knew each other for 36 years and were business partners for 25, starting the highly successful Mishon Mackay in 1987.

An immensely popular and talented man, colleagues, clients and fellow agents all paid tribute to him, and over 600 people packed into his funeral, where Glenn’s friend, the top crime writer Peter James, spoke.

Elizabeth Baxter, of Martlets Hospice, said of the latest golf day: “We send our heartfelt thanks to all at Mishon Mackay for their hard work in organising such a successful event.”

Alex Mackay, at Mishon Mackay, added: “To be honest we are the ones who are privileged to be able to support such a fantastic enterprise.

“Fundraising is not so much about the people who hand over the cheque, it’s about all those who support the event whatever it may be.

“At Mishon Mackay we set our stall out every year to raise thousands of pounds for charities in the local area, but without the support of everyone at Mishon Mackay we would never raise as much for such great causes.”
