Former agency founder joins Moveli as West London broker

Agent & Homes founder Rollo Miles has joined Moveli as the brokerage continues to expand its network of self-employed agents.

Miles has more than 25 years’ experience in the London property market. His previous roles include positions at John D Wood & Co., Marsh & Parsons and Bective.

He also founded and ran Agent & Homes, giving him experience of operating under the self-employed brokerage model.

At Moveli, Miles will focus on high-value residential property across West London. He will handle instructions from valuation and marketing through to negotiation and completion.

Ben Littlewood, co-founder and co-CEO of Moveli, said: “Rollo is a brilliant and highly respected agent, and we are extremely pleased to welcome him to Moveli.

“He brings an unusual depth of experience, both as an accomplished agent and as someone who understands the brokerage model from the inside.

“He will be a fantastic addition to our growing West London network, and we are delighted to have him with us.”

Miles joins as Moveli says its network has passed 100 brokers across London and a number of regional markets.

The brokerage operates with a central team providing its self-employed agents with operational, marketing and technology support.

Former LMS chief takes the helm at Conveyancing Association

Nick Chadbourne

Former LMS chief executive Nick Chadbourne has been appointed non-executive chair of the Conveyancing Association (CA).

Chadbourne, who recently stepped down from LMS after a decade as chief executive, will take up the role at the start of October.

He succeeds Nicky Heathcote, who will leave the CA after completing her second term as non-executive chair.

During his time at LMS, Chadbourne worked with lenders, conveyancers, mortgage advisers, suppliers and panel managers across the home-moving market.

His appointment comes as the industry faces potential changes to the home buying and selling process. Chadbourne said ensuring conveyancers have a voice in those reforms would form part of his remit.

However, he also wants the CA to focus on more immediate pressures facing firms. These include fee levels, caseloads and the loss of technical knowledge as experienced conveyancers leave the profession.

His first priority will be to speak to CA members and affiliates before agreeing longer-term priorities with the board.

Chadbourne said: “The next few years are going to be hugely important for conveyancing and the wider home-moving market.

“Reform of the home buying and selling process is coming, and it is vital this happens with conveyancers rather than to them.

“Conveyancers need a credible and informed voice in the room while those changes are being shaped, rather than simply being brought into the conversation once decisions have already been made.”

He added: “Fee levels, caseload pressures, maintaining technical knowledge and the practical problems firms encounter week-in, week-out all matter, and the bigger reform agenda cannot be allowed to crowd those issues out.

“My first priority, however, is to listen. I want to speak to legal member firms and our affiliates, and understand what they think we do well, what we could do better and what they need from their representative body.”

Victoria Mortimer, speaking on behalf of the CA board, said Chadbourne’s experience across the conveyancing and wider property market would bring “an important new perspective”.

Rex Software expands UK team with CRM onboarding hire

Maia Brams

Rex Software has expanded its UK team with the appointment of Maia Brams as CRM onboarding and support specialist.

Brams will work with estate and letting agents moving to the Rex CRM platform. Her role will cover data migration, training and ongoing support during the transition.

She joins from property management company Houst, where she worked with clients during onboarding and helped them adopt the company’s technology.

The appointment marks a move further into PropTech for Brams, combining her previous property sector experience with a client-facing technology role.

Brams said: “I previously worked in the property space, but it was between tech and property management, and I always knew I wanted to be more on the tech side of things.

“When I saw the role at Rex, everything about it seemed really interesting.

“What really stood out to me throughout the interview process was the people. Everyone I met gave me a really positive impression of the company and where it was going.

“Rex is constantly moving and integrating new things like AI, and that’s really exciting because you want to be somewhere that’s fast-paced and developing.”

Brams has spent her first few months building her knowledge of the Rex platform. She has now started managing client onboarding projects.

She added: “I think one of the things I can bring to Rex is a pragmatic approach to working with people.

“Everyone has their own expectations, and sometimes what someone is saying isn’t necessarily what they mean, so I’m quite good at working through that while keeping a positive mindset. I like to just get on with things and find a way forward.”

Rex Software said the appointment forms part of its continued investment in its UK operation.
