Former Fisher German partner joins self-employed agency network

Christian Sanders

Former Fisher German partner Christian Sanders has joined Chartwell Noble as a partner agent as the business expands its presence in the Midlands.

Sanders has more than 35 years of experience across residential and rural property, including agency leadership, business ownership and advisory roles.

At Fisher German, he worked within the firm’s Rural and Residential Agency Department. His role included advising on the sale of country houses, farms and estates.

Previously, Sanders ran his own agency, John Sanders, which specialised in country house sales and property auctions across the Midlands.

His appointment comes as Chartwell Noble continues to expand its partner agent model.

Sanders said: “The agency landscape continues to evolve, and clients increasingly expect a more personal, relationship-led approach. Chartwell Noble offers the perfect combination of independence, premium marketing and client focus.

“Having spent more than three decades in the industry, I wanted to align myself with a business whose values closely mirror my own. I was looking for a platform that matched my ambitions and commitment to delivering outstanding results.

“Chartwell Noble’s reputation, marketing capability and values-led approach made it clear this was the right fit. It offers the perfect balance of independence, support and premium positioning, allowing me to deliver the exceptional service my clients expect.”

Knight Frank has appointed Victoria McLaughlin as sales director for Derbyshire.

McLaughlin brings more than 15 years of experience in the property sector, having worked across country, regional and prime residential markets.

She has specialised in the sale of higher-value and distinctive homes throughout her career and will be responsible for developing Knight Frank’s business across Derbyshire.

McLaughlin said: “Melbourne provides an excellent base from which to serve clients, and I look forward to working with buyers and sellers throughout the region while establishing Knight Frank’s presence in this important market.”

Mitchell Glassey, director for the West Midlands at Knight Frank, said McLaughlin’s experience and local market knowledge would support the firm’s growth plans in Derbyshire.

McCarthy & Stone hires partnerships chief to accelerate expansion

Jonathan Sanders

McCarthy & Stone has appointed Jonathan Sanders as head of partnerships as it looks to expand its partnerships business.

Sanders joins with more than a decade of experience across residential development, affordable housing, land acquisition and strategic partnerships.

Most recently, he worked at untypical Group, where he led land and partnership strategies. His previous experience also includes roles at Hill Group and Legal & General.

McCarthy & Stone is developing its partnerships model alongside housing associations, landowners and other public and private sector organisations.

The later-living developer said it already has several partnership projects underway, with a number expected to complete in the coming weeks.

The expansion comes as the UK’s ageing population increases demand for specialist housing. The pensionable-age population is forecast to rise from 12.4 million in 2024 to 15.3 million by 2049.

Sanders said: “The development of a Partnerships business, which is well underway, is a key part in the Group’s strategy and one which has the potential to realise significant value through the delivery of meaningful social housing developments.”

Matthew Pratt, CEO of McCarthy & Stone, added: “The UK is suffering from a national housing crisis and, with our development expertise, we are exceptionally well-placed to play a major role in helping to alleviate that crisis through the later-living sector and by helping unlock larger family homes for the wider housing market.

“We have already made good progress in building our partnerships business with a number of projects underway and Jonathan’s appointment takes this to the next level.”
