Savills appoints Niall Macleod as director and head of residential development in Aberdeen

Savills has appointed Niall Macleod as director and head of residential development in Aberdeen.

Macleod was previously land director with Dandara. He has been at the forefront of many significant land deals in the North East of Scotland and beyond.

Ben Brough, Savills head of Scotland development, said: “It is brilliant to have someone of Niall’s background and experience joining us to provide a high quality, client-focussed service. He will focus on continuing to grow Savills client base in the North East but also support our wider development business across Scotland.”

Macleod said: “It is an exciting time to be joining Savills. Scotland’s housing market is poised for further growth and I look forward to working with landowners, developers and investors to help them to capitalise on this by providing new homes in places people want to live.”

 

Peter Gore joins Weston Homes as group operations director

Housebuilder Weston Homes has announced the appointment of Peter Gore as group operations director.

Highly experienced in both the London and Essex markets, Gore brings with him a wealth of technical, commercial and construction expertise and joins Weston Homes from Taylor Wimpey London where he worked for the past three years as managing director.

Gove has previously worked in senior delivery and construction director roles at Barratt Homes and Mount Anvil on a range of projects.

He is tasked with helping to improve product delivery, staff team building and development, as well as health and safety and customer satisfaction.

Gore said: “I am delighted to be joining the group at an exciting time of major growth and expansion. The business has a highly diverse range of developments, including a series of major landmark schemes commencing and many others in the pipeline.”

Regeneration specialist joins London Square

Housebuilder London Square has appointed regeneration expert Barbara Richardson as the managing director of its new housing provider Square Roots – with six new sites lined up to deliver around 700 homes for shared ownership and homes for affordable rent.

Richardson joins Square Roots from the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead where she was MD of the council’s property company, delivering a £3bn regeneration programme in Maidenhead and managing a £70m portfolio.

This followed a role as MD of Lampton 360 Ltd, where she set up development and investment companies to deliver housing in the London Borough of Hounslow.

With more than 25 years’ experience in the development sector, Richardson, a chartered surveyor, has worked both in the public and private sector, as a director at Savills, and development director at Berkeley First, as well as senior positions at housing providers.

Adam Lawrence, chief executive, London Square, said: “Barbara has exceptional expertise in regeneration and the affordable sector. She will be driving forward our plans for shared ownership and affordable rent homes.

“This is a key part of our strategy to expand our existing platform to deliver an entire eco system of tenures of affordable, private for sale and build to rent homes for people who want to work and live in London, whether renting or buying.”
