Chestertons has reopened its dedicated Chelsea sales operation, nine years after merging the team with its Knightsbridge business.

The estate agency has established a new sales team at its existing Sloane Avenue branch in SW3, where it will operate alongside the lettings department.

The move marks Chestertons’ return to a locally based Chelsea sales operation for the first time since 2017.

The company previously operated from Cale Street, near Chelsea Old Town Hall. It subsequently merged the sales team with Knightsbridge to accommodate an expanding workforce.

Since then, Chestertons has handled Chelsea property sales through its combined Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Chelsea operation.

The decision to re-establish a dedicated team follows the relocation of its Chelsea lettings department to Sloane Avenue earlier this year.

It also comes as the agency looks to expand its presence in Prime Central London.

Internal promotion to lead Chelsea sales

Chestertons has promoted Harry Shaw to sales manager of the reopened operation.

Shaw joined the company in 2023 and has worked across its Parsons Green, Mayfair and Knightsbridge branches.

He began his property career in North Yorkshire before moving to London.

Adam Jennings, head of residential at Chestertons, said: “Chelsea has always been an important market for Chestertons, and reopening a dedicated sales operation in SW3 is a natural next step for the business.

“Bringing sales and lettings together at Sloane Avenue will strengthen our local presence and allow us to build on the relationships we already have with homeowners across Chelsea.”

Sales and lettings reunited under one roof

The Chelsea team will continue to work with Ian Barrett and Chestertons’ Knightsbridge office, sharing buyer contacts and market coverage.

The agency operates more than 35 offices across London.

Shaw said: “Having a dedicated sales team on Sloane Avenue means we can build on the relationships our lettings colleagues already have in Chelsea and offer buyers and sellers a more personal service from people based in the neighbourhood.

“Whether someone is selling a long-held family home, buying their first flat or moving from overseas, they need honest advice, regular communication and someone who stays on top of the detail.”

Chestertons has attributed the reopening to growing local demand, although it has not provided sales or transaction figures to support that assessment.
