Independent estate agency The Stow Brothers has opened its sixth branch, expanding into Islington for the first time.

The new office, at 292 Upper Street, extends the firm’s presence across north and east London, continuing its expansion since launching in Walthamstow in 2014.

The branch is headed by sales manager Russell Gooden and lettings manager Ashley Mitson.

The opening also marks a return to the family’s roots. Co-founders Kenny and Andrew Goad’s great-grandfather operated a jewellery business on Upper Street more than a century ago.

The new premises, designed by Rees Architects, feature clay tiles, microcement walls and voile curtains, the latter referencing the building’s history as a jeweller’s.

The agency officially celebrated the opening on 22 October with a launch event attended by local businesses, residents and artists.

An exhibition curated by artist Gisli Bergman formed part of the event.

Kenny and Andrew Goad said: “We’ve been looking forward to opening our doors in Islington for a long time, so it was brilliant to finally celebrate with everyone who has helped bring it together.

“Creativity has always been a big part of The Stow Brothers, from the way we market homes to the spaces we work in. We wanted this office to reflect that, with a real attention to detail and a sense of the neighbourhood around us.

“There’s also something very special about opening on Upper Street, where our great-grandfather once had his jewellery business. It feels like a lovely connection between the past and what we’re building today.”

The opening follows a marketing campaign developed with Studio.Build, featuring a commissioned poem alongside print and digital advertising.

The Islington branch becomes the agency’s sixth office, 12 years after the business was established.
