What can estate agents learn from this ex-England star and Premier League legend?

L-R: Ian Macbeth, Gareth Barry and Alex Willis

Project Peak Performance, the concept launched in September by 5 key industry leaders secured a big coup last week by recording a podcast episode with the Premier League’s all time record appearance holder Gareth Barry.

After making EYE readers aware of the project back in August, the group has recorded 13 episodes, including interviews with Cristiano Ronaldo’s recovery coach, a three times world duathlon champion and 20 times ironman champion, a blackbelt in Jujitsu and a nutrition and health optimisation coach.

In the latest episode, two of the group founders, Alex Willis of the GOTO Group, and Ian Macbeth, managing partner at Avocado Property, carried out an interview with footballing legend, Gareth Barry.

Willis commented ‘’I first met Gareth 18 months ago on a golf trip, and I was fortunate enough to be paired with him on the same trip this year in September. We got on really well, and after I got back from the trip I messaged him to ask if he would like to be a guest on the show. Being the humble guy that he is, Gareth agreed and fast forward a few weeks later we were together recording the episode from the Wentworth estate in Virginia Water.

“We recorded for 40 minutes, and are delighted with the amazing stories and anecdotes he was able to share including thoughts on mindset, how off field issues impact players, what makes a great leader and how he was able to perform so consistently at the highest level for 21 years. Our mission when setting up the group was to accelerate and educate a community of driven people, by sharing stories of real life human experiences of peak performance.

“With the guests we have had on so far we feel we are delivering on our mission, and would encourage anyone with an ambition to learn and grow to subscribe to the site and the facebook group and become part of our growing community’’.

The Gareth Barry episode will be released on 15 December, and will be followed by a live group review episode on Tuesday 19 December.
