UK residential director at RICS quitting for new role

Andrew Bulmer is leaving his high-profile role as UK residential director at the RICS to become CEO of the Institute of Residential Property Management

Bulmer FIRPM FRICS will take the helm of IRPM at the end of next month.

He said: “IRPM is now the default ‘go-to’ body for industry-relevant qualifications in the expanding residential leasehold and build-to-rent sectors delivering skilled, qualified professionals who are raising standards in an increasingly complex and demanding consumer environment.

“I will build upon the fantastic work of Janie Strange and Jeff Platt, who were among the founding members of IRPM in 2002, forging an institution that is relevant, useful and great value for its members and their firms, working with the Government and stakeholders to deliver better outcomes for millions of consumers.

“I am also delighted to confirm that both Janie and Jeff will continue their involvement with IRPM for a while yet, further increasing our capacity to deliver on our strategy swiftly and surely.”

David Clark, current chair at IRPM, said: “We are genuinely thrilled to have made such a high profile appointment in Andrew. He is highly regarded in the sector and joins us at an exciting time for IRPM and residential management generally.”
