Tesco Insurance has launched two new products aimed at private landlords and holiday home owners.
The retailer’s insurance arm will offer specialist cover for rented residential properties and second homes used for holidays.
The launch expands Tesco’s existing partnership with Prestige Underwriting. The firm will handle sales, customer servicing and claims.
Customers can access both products online or by telephone.
Alex Cross, chief customer officer at Tesco Insurance, said: “We know that for some customers’ their insurance needs can extend beyond their main home, whether they own a holiday property or rent out another property.
“By expanding our relationship with Prestige Underwriting, we can give customers access to specialist insurance designed for these types of properties.”
Tim Baxter, business development and relationship director at Prestige Underwriting, said: “Holiday homeowners and private landlords are an important part of the property insurance market, with needs that require specialist understanding.
“Helping them access cover that reflects how their properties are used is central to this partnership.”
The move extends Tesco Insurance’s product range beyond standard home insurance. It targets property owners who need cover tailored to rented or holiday properties.
