Rosalind Renshaw wins property journalism Lifetime Achievement award

Rosalind Renshaw, the editor of Property Industry Eye, won the Lifetime Achievement award at this week’s LSL property press awards.

Rosalind was presented with the award at a champagne ceremony on Monday night in London which was hosted by TV presenter Julia Somerville.

The award itself was presented by Miles Shipside, director of Rightmove which sponsored the category.

The category was unique in the awards in that it could not be entered but was decided by the judges.

In the citation, Julia Somerville said that there had been just one, easy choice for the judges in Rosalind.

Tribute was paid to Rosalind’s long service in journalism, beginning as a junior reporter on local newspapers, before going to regional papers,  where she began writing about property in the late seventies.

The accolade referred to her time at the BBC where she had her own daily show on a local station, her three years at The Times editing the Crème section, and her editorship of a number of property magazines.

Tribute was paid to Rosalind’s ability to dig for stories, her work ethic and her flair for being able to add exactly the right type of comment where necessary.

Rosalind said: “I have been a journalist for 40 years and this really is a career highlight.

“I was both astonished and very honoured to get this award – and what a wonderful boost in the week that we launch Property Industry Eye.”

Congratulations on Eye’s launch and your award Ros, agency will be comforted to know you’re back and that Eye will last longer and be more successful than Harry Hill’s last incarnation as ‘In-Deed’ (the firm which will kill conveyancing lawyers) or indeed his hill-fated new attempt to kill agents! All the best, Big T.
