Property transactions edge higher

Chris Watkin

One of the primary concerns during a recession is the expected drop in transactional volume, but new data shows that the number of property sales agreed in the first week of this year is slightly higher when compared with the corresponding period last year.

New figures provided by ‘propertystato’ Chris Watkin using TwentyEA data indicates an increase in volume of new properties going under offer within the first week of this year.

The data shows that 9,231 residential property sales were agreed in the first week of 2023, up from 9,161 during the same period in 2022.
