Picture of the week: Swimming pool in the sky could become THE next big thing

Here’s our picture of the week. You will love it, you will loathe it – but is this the feature that will become to tower blocks what central islands are to kitchens, shagpile was to carpeting and avocado to bathrooms?

It is a 25-metre long sky pool at ten storeys high, linking two tower blocks at Nine Elms, Battersea.

Designed to become the world’s first “floating” swimming pool, residents with an excellent head for heights will be able to swim from one block to another (no, we’re not sure why they’d want to do that either).

Sky Pool will be made from 20cm thick (or should that be horrifyingly thin?) glass.

Sean Mulryan, chairman and founder of the developers Ballymore, said: “My vision for the Sky Pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering.

“I wanted to do something that had never been done before.

“At Ballymore we like to push the boundaries on all aspects of design, and the Sky Pool’s transparent structure is the result of significant advancements in technologies over the last decade.

“The experience of the pool will be truly unique. It will feel like floating through the air in central London.”

The Sky Pool will be open to Nine Elms residents only, who will need to invest a minimum of £620,000 to buy quite a small apartment.

Which sounds a lot to take the plunge.

Plus we guarantee that there will be sky pools everywhere by this time next year.

The article shared above is informative. Now-a-days different designs of swimming pool are being constructed by the pool owners. As, swimming pool are one of the important place that enhance the beauty of the property. But, along with the different designs pool owners should also look after the swimming pool safety. Ease, safety is the most essential thing while enjoying the swimming pool. Different sites like http://www.sloaneaccessories.com.au/product-range, Glasswithclass, etc are available on the Internet, providing the installation services of pool safeguards.
