John D Wood & Co. opens new office

John D Wood & Co., part of Countrywide, is moving their Chiswick office into larger premises.

The estate agency, which has a network of offices across London, Surrey and the south of England, hope that the new office, which will occupy the corner position at 45 Turnham Green Terrace, will bolster their presence as sales and lettings experts in the W4 area.

The team will continue to be led by Julian Masson, the branch manager, and lettings manager Laura Purvor.

Plans to expand operations were initiated by the growth in local demand. John D Wood & Co. says that it has seen a 67% increase in people looking to buy within reach of W4.

Julian Masson, branch manager at John D Wood & Co. said: “The increase in demand for homes, combined with a lack of supply means the sales property market in Chiswick is extremely competitive – the vast majority of the properties we have listed both on and ‘off-market’ are achieving impressive offers, at or above their asking price.

“Sellers who have been prepared to break their chain and move into temporary rented accommodation or found alternative arrangements have capitalised on motivated buyers.”

The lettings market continues to boom despite its own challenges; the level of available property supply continues to plummet, pushing rents soaring.

Laura Purvor, lettings manager at John D Wood & Co., commented: “Our landlords have benefitted from our ‘open house’ style viewings when their properties become available.

“With the increased competition amongst tenants often leading to multiple offers, and these offers frequently going over the initial asking price, this has also given landlords the opportunity to choose tenants from a highly competitive selection.”

Simon Merson, associate director at John D Wood & Co., added: “We are delighted to announce our move across the Terrace to much larger, and newly refurbished office in Chiswick. It is in a more prominent location, where we feel even better placed to serve past, current and future clients while our business continues to grow.”
