Hamptons, part of Connells, has announced that it has acquired international agency Venres to expand its residential development offering.

This specialist agency, which promotes residential developments and new homes into international markets, will be absorbed into the Hamptons brand to create the new Hamptons International Residential Department.

The acquisition builds on the success of Hamptons’ recent new homes expansion which saw its established Residential Development business expanding its New Homes offering in the South and South West of England, resulting in a network of 12 New Homes ‘hubs’ to support its 90-plus office network.

The Hamptons International Residential Department, previously known as Venres, focusses on bespoke and tailored advice for developer clients to help them more effectively sell to international markets.

The department is well positioned to capitalise on the recent increased demand for UK new homes seen by markets such as Hong Kong, Mainland China and other key international centres.

The team have a wealth of experience and have successfully launched several major London projects, selling to over 20 nationalities. This year alone they have sold more than 80 units; the most exclusive of which was Christian Candy’s flagship penthouse in Holland Park, guiding at £16.95 million.

Tom Hawkins, head of Hamptons London residential development, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Venres’s specialist team based in London and key overseas markets into the Hamptons family. We were very impressed by what the Venres team has achieved since its inception and see them as a key service line in the Hamptons Res Dev offering.

“The company has built an impressive global network focussed on connecting London to international buyers and their results are fantastic. Having worked with Matt previously I am confident that, together, we can now really drive our international vision and strategy for Hamptons Residential Development forward.”

Matt Goldsworthy, Venres director, commented: “I launched Venres with the desire to tackle international property markets in a different and more cost-effective way for my developer clients. I wanted to penetrate the international markets without having to rely on large marketing budgets, but to focus on clever digital marketing and the strength of relationships.

“Hamptons was an obvious partnership and will see an excellent marriage of both our buyer profile and housing demand, and the Hamptons’ market positioning and developer client base. The collaboration will see us build on what the Residential Development Division has already established and create a boutique and all-encompassing offering to better service our developer clients.”

Mary Beeton, Head of Hamptons residential sales & residential development, added: “The acquisition of Venres is a further investment in the growth and expansion of our highly successful Residential Development department.

“The international offering was always an area that we wanted to invest in but we wanted to ensure that we partnered with the right business and like-minded individuals. Venres’s innovative approach and impressive international reach left us in no doubt that this will be an exciting and successful collaboration.

“We are thrilled that this acquisition will allow us to better service new and existing developer clients.”
