Franchisees unite to complete independent agency acquisition

Three Martin & Co branches have joined forces to complete an independent agency acquisition.

The Bournemouth, Poole, and Ringwood branches of Martin & Co have purchased Bournemouth-based Panorama Property.

More than 150 of those properties will be managed by Philip and Monica Skorochod of Martin & Co’s Bournemouth office, with the remaining portfolio split between Steve Ballam’s Poole branch and Marie Mansell’s Ringwood office in the New Forest.

The deal marks a third acquisition for the Skorochods, who took over the Bournemouth branch in 2018, while Panorama is Ballam’s fifth acquisition in Poole since he took on the branch 14 years ago.

For Mansell, Panorama marks her first acquisition since taking over the Ringwood office in 2020.

Philip Skorochod said: “One of the many benefits of being part of a national network like Martin & Co is being able to complete acquisitions like this alongside fellow franchisees.

“The Panorama acquisition is another huge milestone for us in Bournemouth and has grown our portfolio by more than 40%.”

He added: “I’ve been lucky enough to complete five acquisitions in Poole, but this one feels particularly special alongside my Martin & Co colleagues.

“Poole is a thriving town with a busy rental sector and acquiring these additional properties from Panorama only serves to strengthen our position in the town.”

Mansell commented: “I’m extremely proud to complete my first acquisition for the Ringwood office since taking over just two years ago.

“Panorama’s landlords are used to proactive property management and excellent customer service, and we’ll be ensuring they continue to receive that and more alongside our colleagues in Bournemouth and Poole.”

Martin & Co managing director, Eric Walker, added: “Seeing three branches come together like this is a source of immense pride for both Martin & Co and The Property Franchise Group.

“All three offices are thriving in a wonderful area of the country, and I know all of them will have further growth very much on their minds.

“Completing a complex acquisition such as this really shows the power of our franchise network, together with the support and expertise of the team in head office, and I’d urge any independents thinking of selling to get in touch.”
