Leo Johnson, the younger brother of prime minister Boris Johnson, will be the headline keynote speaker at Fine & Country’s annual conference next month.

Leo Johnson, the currently the co-presenter of the Radio 4 series FutureProofing, a show that explores the big ideas and innovations reshaping business and society, will kick off the 2022 annual conference, which takes place on 11 March.

While Johnson’s family is rooted in politics, he decided to pursue a different career path, graduating from Oxford University and then completing a masters in environmental and resource economics at UCL. In addition to his co-presenter role at Radio4, Johnson is currently the co-founder of the advisory firm Sustainable Finance, adviser to over 50 global banks and businesses.

Johnson is the author of Beyond Risk, co-author of Turnaround Challenge: Business and the City of Future, and winner of the IFC Corporate Award for his work with the financial sector. He is a Fellow at Oxford’s Smith School of Enterprise, and lectures at the LSE and the Cambridge Programme for Industry.

He will be discussing his key topic of futureproofing and bringing it into sharp focus. Johnson will also be pinpointing trends, from climate change to increased regulation and threats to corporate reputation and then laying out both the risks and the opportunities for business and finance.

Simon Leadbetter, global CEO of Fine & Country, said: “We are genuinely delighted to have Leo Johnson as our headline speaker at the Fine & Country conference this year. He has dedicated his life to environmental sustainability, which is something we as a brand are very passionate about.

“Combined with Leo’s background as an economist in the sustainability space, we look forward to his contribution to a day of thought-provoking content, demonstrating how you can grow market share and increase revenue whilst remaining informed and responsible. It will be interesting to hear what he has to share with regard to futureproofing our business and bringing into light the key areas that we should be focusing on to make our business more sustainable. He promises to be an engaging and insightful speaker at our 2022 conference in March.”
