Watermans has opened its fifth office as the estate agency and legal business continues its expansion across eastern Scotland.
The new Bonnyrigg branch is the firm’s second opening this year. It follows the launch of its Dunfermline office in March.
Watermans also operates offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.
The latest expansion gives the firm a base in Midlothian. It also brings local property professional Neil Reid into the business as a consultant valuer.
Reid has lived in Bonnyrigg for more than 30 years. He has worked in the local property market for 15 years.
Watermans said the branch will support its estate agency activity across Midlothian and surrounding areas.
Second branch opening this year
Scott Whyte, managing director at Watermans, said: “Opening our fifth Watermans office, in Bonnyrigg, is part of our long-term plans for the business.
“It allows us to provide a base closer to home for both current and future clients in Midlothian.
“The move will also see us add Neil Reid to our estate agency team.”
Reid said: “Having lived in Bonnyrigg for over three decades and operated in the property sector here for the last 15 years, I am delighted to join Watermans.
“Watermans has been a firm that I have always found to be proactive and straightforward to deal with for legal and property transactions.”
Shawn Wood, director and head of conveyancing, will oversee the legal property work from the new office.
He said: “For us, it’s about making our legal services more accessible to people and businesses across Midlothian.
“It gives clients the opportunity to deal with a local team, rather than having to travel elsewhere for advice.”
The Bonnyrigg opening takes Watermans’ network to five offices. It also marks the firm’s second branch opening in six months.
