easyProperty reveals inventory of over 4,000 homes as it shoots down claim that it added only three last week

easyProperty has over 4,000 properties listed, it was revealed yesterday.

easyProperty was responding after a social media message by proptech exponent Eddie Holmes called into question the success of the business since its merger with the parent company of the Guild of Property Professionals, and Fine & Country.

Holmes said on LinkedIn: “I am on record with @James Dearsley as calling this deal a ‘knee-jerk response’. I’ve asked Adam Day on multiple occasions for an update on how many properties they have listed – and never had a response.

“Months have since passed. Well it looks to me like they listed three (3) properties last week. Disastrous if true. Happy to be proven wrong – perhaps we can get some comment.”

A second message followed in which Holmes asked the trade press if we had any luck getting updates.

We got a rapid response from Adam Day, head of operations at easyProperty, who explained that the three new properties added last week were added to the small national inventory which is still being handled centrally – the figure on Rightmove yesterday was 59, with 46 available. Almost all of the easyProperty inventory is being handled at local level.

Day told us: “A very small number of licensees haven’t yet been able set up their easyProperty profile on Rightmove (through no fault of anyone – just processes).

“We have agreed with Rightmove that while we transition from our B2C to B2B2C business model, we will support these agents centrally. We expect our central Rightmove profile to be fully ‘switched off’ in the New Year once the transition is complete.”

Day told us that the business is now working with partner agents and over 400 local property professionals, and has more than 4,000 properties on the easyProperty website.

He said: “As far as individual figures go, this is decentralised and managed by our partner agents in their individual businesses.”

He added: “We’re still in the early days of the business, having relaunched easyProperty less than three months ago.

“Whilst we’re still looking for the last few areas to be licensed, we’re fully focused on creating a long-lasting and sustainable business for all of our partner agents and we are committed to delivering new and innovative online estate agency services to those customers over the coming weeks and months.”

So, licensed franchise holders will each have their own ‘branch’ on Rightmove, as most agents do. Why, then, are other similar models given special treatment by Rightmove?

Maybe they are listing their own homes to get the numbers up, those numbers are dire.

They have just 1 listing for sale when you search Bournemouth area and that’s a property that is for sale by modern auction; the auction end date was 29 November so not looking great!

On the lettings page they had to extend the search area to include Southampton 30 miles away where they have the grand total of 2 properties to let, 1 is let the other has been available since 1st August!

Just like virtually every agent out their and on all the portals.  Half the properties are not available anyway, no matter what they suggest. The whole industry needs to stop false advertising to consumers, stop putting out fake figures and get real.  We have x properties for sale/rent, what a load of cobblers.

Searching Manchester + 20 miles and London + 20 miles revealed 44 sales listings not under offer in total- that’s low numbers for seriously high population areas. Struggle to see how this grows to 4k- although at 400+ lpp’s that’s only 10 per ‘office’. Early days admittedly for the re-launch of the brand but come out fighting with facts that can be (relatively) easily substantiated no?!

they must have 4,000 homes on their books, mustn’t they.

    I think you’re all cynics.

    Honestly

    No shame !

Can I have the pink pill now?
