Yesterday we carried in good faith a link to a form which we were assured was a newly updated one for letting agents and landlords to use when seeking to claim back a property.

A reader spotted that this was in fact no different from the existing form issued in October.

Government officials have been alerted to the error.

We have taken down yesterday’s story, since to leave it there would have been misleading.
