Auction sales a hit – but not in every region

Essential Information Group (EIG) has published its latest auction sales data, showing a 14.9% year-on-year increase in the total revenue raised by the sales of residential and commercial properties during September.

Overall, 2,943 lots were offered compared to 3,043 lots in September 2020, but the 78.1% that sold under the hammer amounted to a value of £539.5m compared to the £469.6m that was raised a year ago.

Residential sales accounted for the largest proportion of the total, the 1,959 lots that sold bringing in £385.3m, up 6.5% from the £361.8m of September 2020.
