Agents urged to collect coats for those in need

Agents Giving is calling for more agents to collect unwanted winter coats – despite the currently mild weather.

The charity has so far built up a collection of 100 bags through its Winter Coat Drive but is pushing for agents to keep collecting.

Agents are also being asked to send tweets and email images of their collection.

Peter Knight, chairman of Agents Giving, said: “We have had a fantastic response to the Winter Coat Drive with property agents and experts alike collecting coats for those in need.

“Many nights the temperature still drops below zero, and the vulnerable are in desperate need for insulation to keep warm, which is why we are continuing to push for agents to keep on collecting coats and donating.”

One donor, Spencer Lawrence of Paramount estate agency in Hampstead, London, said: “When we received the call in November for unwanted coats, we immediately jumped on it. It’s such a simple job but it has a huge impact for those in need, especially during the cold nights.

“Thanks to our staff, clients and our local MP, Tulip Saddiq, we have collected bags of coats for Brent Food Bank and Ashford Place. It was a simple request, but it has had a domino effect.”
