Dwelly has completed its sixth acquisition of 2026 after acquiring Cheltenham-based estate agency Move, extending a dealmaking streak that has seen the group complete three acquisitions in less than a fortnight.

The purchase is Dwelly’s second acquisition in Cheltenham this month following last week’s deal for Elliot Oliver. Move operates across sales and lettings and brings around 1,100 fully managed properties and three branches into the group’s portfolio.

Following the acquisition, founder George Tatham-Losh will step back from the business, with Verity Howes taking on the role of managing director.

Tatham-Losh commented: “Move has been built over many years through the hard work of a fantastic team and a genuine commitment to delivering great service across the local market.

“As the industry continues to evolve, it became increasingly important to find a partner that could help take the business forward whilst protecting the culture and reputation we’ve worked so hard to build.

“Dwelly’s approach to acquisitions really aligned with that thinking. Their focus on empowering local agencies through better operational support and technology, rather than removing what makes them successful, gave me a huge amount of confidence about the future direction of the business.”

The latest deal continues Dwelly’s strategy of acquiring established independent agencies with strong local market positions. The group said acquired businesses will continue to operate under their existing brands while gaining access to shared technology and operational support.

Sam Humphreys, head of M&A at Dwelly, said: “As our acquisition activity has accelerated this year, we’ve remained incredibly focused on the type of businesses we want to partner with.

“Move stood out because it’s a business with deep local roots, a strong culture and a team that genuinely understands its market. Those qualities are incredibly difficult to build and they’re exactly what we value most when looking at acquisitions.

“Our approach is about helping already successful agencies operate even more effectively by improving the infrastructure behind the scenes.

“Through technology and AI-led systems, we’re able to remove much of the manual admin and operational friction that slows teams down, allowing them to spend more time focused on service, relationships and growth.”
