Essex-based estate agency Beresford Group has paid tribute to sales director Mike Sayers, who is retiring from the company after 35 years of employment.
Sayers, who sat on the residential sales and financial services boards at Beresfords, joined the business back in 1987 as manager of its Brentwood office.
Having lived and worked in the area for many years, Sayers built up the branch quickly which cemented Beresfords’ position as a leading agent in the area.
From Brentwood, Sayers led both the Brentwood and Shenfield branches in his director role, before moving into an area director position in Havering. He then took up his role of sales director for the group.
He was also integral to building Beresfords’ financial services and mortgage company, Flagstone.
Paul Beresford, CEO of Beresfords Group, said: “Mike is a colleague and dear friend who has played an enormous part in the success of Beresfords, both in terms of our growth and portfolio but also our team and culture.
“It has been a real privilege working with him over the last 35 years. Myself and the wider group have always been inspired by his work ethic, commitment and his approach to roll his sleeves up and support wherever is needed. There is no question that without his input and focus, Beresfords wouldn’t be where it is today.
“I personally want to thank him for being such a dedicated and tenacious team player and for his outstanding contribution to the business. He will be missed by all, but we are pleased and excited for him as he moves into retirement – which if I know Mike – will be spent with his family, on the golf course and enjoying travel. All the very best to you Mike and your family.”
