Connells Group brand William H Brown, part of the Sequence UK network, has made it clear that it is still in the market for acquisitions after buying well-known independent Porter Glenny.

The purchase price for the 21-year-old firm has not been disclosed.

Established in 1995, Porter Glenny has four branches in Essex and east London – Gidea Park, Barking, Rainham and Grays.

These will trade under “William H Brown incorporating Porter Glenny” and all staff will be retained.  Directors Ian Stevenson and Trevor Foster will stay on in a consultancy basis for William H Brown.

Ian Fry, regional managing director at William H Brown, said: “We are delighted to acquire Porter Glenny – a hugely successful business which allows us to strengthen our position in the Essex region and signals our confidence in this active market place.

“The addition of the four Porter Glenny branches into our network complements our recently opened Maldon and Brentwood offices, plus our new Harlow office coming soon.”

He said the purchase forms part of a wider initiative by William H Brown’s parent company Sequence UK  to expand and invest where the right opportunities exist.
