US franchise giant recruits big name from London estate agency market

American franchising giant Keller Williams, which launched in the UK last summer, has recruited Darryl Jenkins to run its London operation.

Jenkins, formerly with Benham & Reeves, will work out of the Keller Williams ‘London market centre’ in Victoria.

He will be responsible for recruiting up to 300 agents over the next three years to work across London and the home counties.

His role will involve supporting and coaching agents that come on board.

Jenkins said: “I believe that Keller Williams UK has entered the UK market at a strategic time.

“We can fill the gap in the market by providing agents with better, more rewarding lives whilst still offering exceptional customer service to house sellers and landlords which the traditional agent or ‘online only’ agent have been unable to do most of the time.”

Keller Williams has over 100,000 agents in 70 ‘market centres’ worldwide.

* It could only happen at an American convention of estate agents – and it just happens to be a Keller Williams one.

A delivery man who dropped pizzas off at the conference was handed six lottery tickets, a friendship thread, and a tip worth more than £1,300. We rather hope it won’t happen here, if only because the pizza man seems so embarrassed – and it’s all a bit over the top.
