UK agent now part of America’s biggest realtor

A London agent with a very long name has officially become part of America’s largest realtor.

Kay & Co, which has three offices, rebranded last year as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Kay & Co after becoming part of the franchise.

Just months later, HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, has now earned the title of the largest residential real estate company in the US.

In 2018, the company’s sales associates closed 346,629 residential transactions reflecting a 5.6% increase over 2017.

The REAL TRENDS ranking is based on 2018 closed transactions for the USA’s top-500 brokerages.

Ron Peltier, executive chairman of HomeServices, said: “This milestone is a testament to the commitment and hard work of thousands of employees and tens of thousands of talented agents and sales managers across HomeServices who deliver an exceptional real estate experience to their buyers and sellers.”

Headquartered in Minneapolis, HomeServices has nearly 44,000 real estate professionals operating in nearly 900 offices across 30 states and the District of Columbia.

Last year, the company’s sales associates facilitated nearly $136bn in residential real estate sales, nearly 347,000 home-sale transactions, and nearly 323,000 mortgage, insurance, title, and escrow transactions.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices announced expansion of its franchise network into the London market by signing an agreement with Kay & Co.

This signing came into play in November, marking only the second global franchisee for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.

The CEO of HSP Affiliates and president of Berkshire Hathaway HomesServices, Chris Stuart, will be visiting the London branch shortly to meet the team and share his vision for an equally successful performance.
