Linda Stringer (centre) presented her award by Rachel Ollington and Chris Webb

Linda Stringer has been named Personal Estate Agent of the Year at the inaugural Personal Estate Agency Awards, where two agents walked away with double honours.

Stringer also secured gold for Best Personal Brand at the ceremony, which took place at Edgbaston Park Hotel in Birmingham on Thursday 22 October.

Dayalan Mahesan was the evening’s other double winner. He claimed gold in both the Community & Local Impact and Personal Lettings Agent of the Year categories.

The event attracted 170 self-employed estate agents, brokerage executives and industry suppliers.

Organisers say it is the first UK awards programme dedicated specifically to self-employed estate agents and personal brand-led businesses.

Who else won?

Avocado Property secured Brokerage of the Year – Sales, while Lion Estates took Team of the Year.

Rob Angell won Rising Star – Brokerage Agent. Meanwhile, Alex Pelosi Buchanan claimed Best Social Media and Natalie Freeman secured Best Video Marketing.

Miranda Menzies won Best Customer Service, while The Avenue took Best Brokerage Support & Training.

The judges also presented their special award to Emily Cuthbert-Edkins.

An independent panel of eight property industry judges assessed the entries.

Recognition for self-employed agents

Chris Webb, founder of the Personal Estate Agency Awards, said the event reflected the growing presence of self-employed agents in the industry.

“More agents than ever are building their own businesses and their own brands, but until now there hasn’t been an event dedicated to recognising them.

“Last night proved how much talent there is in this part of the industry. Congratulations to Linda and to every winner and finalist, you’ve set the bar for every year that follows.”

Amy Bibiris, executive director at The ESTAS, spoke on behalf of the judging panel.

“The standard of entries was exceptionally high, which made our job genuinely difficult.

“What set the winners apart wasn’t the size of their business, but the consistency of their service, the strength of their local reputation, and clear evidence that their clients always come first.”
