Two big events for Agents Giving – get your diaries out

Get those shiny new diaries out – two big events in aid of Agents Giving have been announced for this summer.

Boards firm Agency Express is putting on a soapbox challenge, calling on agents to enter a team, design and build their own soap box kart, and then join a race at the Penn House Estate in Buckinghamshire.

There are prizes of up to £500 (or you can choose up to six months’ free boards), plus various wooden spoon prizes and also one for the “best dressed kart”.

The date is June 27, and entries are invited now at www.agencyexpress.co.uk/soapbox

Also in June is the Great British Property Paddle.

Andrew Trantum of Embrace Mortgage Services, part of the LSL group, is to kayak and canoe his way along all the waterways of Britain – over 300 miles – to raise money for Agents Giving.

He is asking agents across the UK to pick up a paddle and join him for a stretch of the route and will make available equipment to anyone intrepid enough to get on the water.

Companies can also sponsor one of the 19 ‘legs’ of the event or sponsor one of the three main kayaks.

Rightmove is supporting the event through a grant to help cover set-up costs and has also branded one of the kayaks.

Trantum said: “I was initially inspired by the scale of the Agents Giving annual event, the Great British Property Cycle, but having had two knee operations I needed to look at another option, and kayaking seemed to tick all the boxes.”

The aim is to paddle about 20 miles every day along a route covering much of the UK’s navigable waterways and to allow as much agent involvement as possible.

After the event, all participators and sponsors will be invited to a fundraising day on July 10 at the Olympic 2012 venue, Lee Valley White Water Park, in order to celebrate the achievements of everyone taking part.
