‘Trust me, I’m an agent’ Facebook page lifts the lid on ‘dubious’ practices

An agent has set up a Facebook page which lifts the lid on some dubious practices in the industry.

Paul Bonett, who runs Bonetts in Brighton, said that the page, “Trust me, I’m a Brighton Estate Agent” is gaining traction both in Brighton and elsewhere.

He said: “It’s our attempt to educate the selling and buying public about some of the intricacies of the property market.

“Some agents will hate some of the articles as we lift the lid on some dubious practices such as extra-long sole agency periods, large fees for getting over an asking price, hidden fees, and so on.”
