Staff of collapsed travel and hospitality company Thomas Cook have been invited to look at estate agency as a career.
Writing on Twitter yesterday, Perry Power told them: “You have incredible customer service/hospitality experience which many companies will love you for. Those skills are more important to property/estate agency than sales team.
“Two of our great operational team members at Power Bespoke came from airlines. One from Monarch (when it collapsed) and one from easyJet.
“One of our partner agents came from a hospitality background too.
“Try and look at it as an exciting new start.
“If you’d like to put your experience to use in the property industry, give me a shout.”
By yesterday afternoon, Power’s post had attracted 90 likes.
Industry recruiter Joshua Rayner said: “There’s lots of talent in the holiday and tourism industry – and our own industry needs it.”

2 of the best negotiators that I ever worked with came to my business from Thomas Cook many years ago. Both went on to have great careers in estate agency.
Maybe not for everyone but it certainly worked for me.

Absolutely agree!!! My wife is an ex employ of theirs and has run the business with me since day one and one of my front line team members left them just over 2 years ago! Such a shame for them all including hoteliers, customers etc
