Rightmove is hosting a webinar this morning to help letting agents navigate the rent-setting requirements introduced under the Renters’ Rights Act.
The session, running from 10am to 11am, will see industry consultant David d’Orton-Gibson provide guidance on how agents can comply with the new rules governing rents in the private rented sector.
Topics covered will include evidencing market rents, dealing with tenant requests to change rent payment dates and preparing for potential challenges at the First-tier Tribunal.
Agents will also receive practical advice on establishing and documenting market rents to help support decisions if they are challenged under the new regime.
The webinar comes as the industry continues to adapt to the Renters’ Rights Act, with many agents reviewing their rent-setting procedures and record-keeping processes ahead of the legislation’s full implementation.
Jason Charles, head of education at Rightmove, said: “The Renters’ Rights Act has changed how rents are set, reviewed and managed, and agents need to feel confident navigating these new expectations day to day. This webinar is designed to give clear, practical guidance on some of the areas agents are being asked about most, helping them approach change with clarity and consistency.”
Agents can register for the webinar here.
