Self-employed model for letting agents to launch next month

Sean Newman

Well-known industry figure Sean Newman, who runs a self-employed business model for estate agents and mortgage advisors, is launching a similar model for letting agents called The Letting Experts, which provides letting agents with tools, support and training to help set up and run a letting business.

The Property Experts, a national network of self-employed estate agents launched by Newman in January this year, allows agents to earn 70% to 80% of the fees banked.

But agents signing up to The Lettings Experts  have an opportunity to earn up to 100% of the management fees.

The Lettings Experts will provide agents with a CRM software, access to property portals, marketing material, and strategies to attract and retain landlords. Agents will do their own property management however if they need any support, The Lettings Experts will provide other services such as rent collection and tenancy renewals.

Managing Director, Susan Liles, has over 25 years’ experience in lettings, with senior roles across national corporate agency, self-employed hybrid models, and most recently as a consultant for an industry leading proptech/insurance company.

She commented “Our goal is to provide the best and most attractive business model for self-employed letting agents in the UK. We have designed the framework and a fully compliant end to end process that offers agents a great platform with the best technology, training and support to run a successful lettings business”

Newman added: “There is clearly an appetite for this model, we have been overwhelmed by the response from existing letting agents who are currently employed and want to set up their own lettings business and also estate agents who wish to start doing lettings.  It’s a very attractive model with agents earning 70% of the letting fees and up to 100% of the management fees. Unlike a typical franchise, there are no upfront costs, and the license fee starts at just £150+vat per month.”
