Roundabouts! Estate agent sponsors one of Britain’s best

In what may be one of EYE’s most uplifting stories ever, we are glad to report that an estate agent has sponsored one of Britain’s finest roundabouts.

Furthermore, the agency has been given a bottle of champagne and a calendar in recognition.

The agent in question is Beadnall Copley, of Harrogate, sponsors of the Prince of Wales roundabout.

The roundabout has been chosen by the UK Roundabout Appreciation Society to adorn the July page of its Best of British Roundabouts calendar 2016.

Daryll Digpal, managing director of Beadnell Copley, said: “Harrogate is a beautiful town and we are pleased to sponsor this roundabout, which sits at a busy gateway to the town centre.

“We are thrilled to hear that we are not the only ones to appreciate its beauty.”

The picture, sadly not taken on a roundabout, shows him receiving his calendar and champagne from Richard Eccles, of Communities Partners, which happens to operate in Harrogate and which helps local councils make money out of … well, roundabouts.

Eccles said: “In my job, I see a lot of roundabouts.

“The Prince of Wales is one of the finest and we’re pleased that Beadnall Copley continues to benefit from the high-profile awareness it generates for them.”

As the UK Roundabout Appreciation Society says, a roundabout is truly an oasis in a sea of Tarmac.
