Ros Renshaw – update

Ros is back at home, but only because they were clearing the hospital because of the coronavirus crisis.

Unfortunately the injury is much worse than at first thought and her shattered shoulder has had to be completely reconstructed. She has very little sensation in her left arm and hand.

Ros said: “My thoughts are very much with the NHS heroes at this time.

“I have seen the best of humanity during these past five traumatic days.”

Her husband Andrew said: “I can now see that it will be a very long road towards even a partial recovery.”

We have let Ros know of the many messages of support that EYE has received and we wish her well in her recuperation.

A long road to recovery Ros, however, you’re safely at home 🙂

My 86yr old Mother had an awful fall yesterday, broke her nose etc……her face looked like a road accident victim, quite a shock, although my Mother said (barely able to speak) “I’m fine, I don’t need the hospital!”.

I witnessed our excellent NHS at their best, amidst the challenge of Covid. The Glasgow Queen Elizabeth Hospital locked down, the staff smiling/chatting thru it all, reassuring, caring….

I sat in my car for many hours, no complaints from me (no visitors allowed in the hospital), approaching midnight I got a call to say Mother could go home (that’s all she wanted ……home).

Home is indeed where the heart is. Wishing you a steady recovery at home Ros.
