Romans Leaders Group has confirmed the departure of one of its most senior figures, that of Tony Gibson who was sales managing director of Romans. He had been with the company for 17 years.
This morning a spokesperson for the Berkshire-headquartered group said: “Kevin Shaw has now been appointed national sales managing director which removes the requirement for separate Romans and Leaders managing director roles.
“As a result of this, Antony Gibson will be leaving the business.
He will be greatly missed at Romans, having joined the company in 2002 to manage the Wokingham branch he’s enjoyed significant success in his roles since then and has helped to develop and grow many of the current senior management team.
“Tony has been a fantastic colleague to me personally and to many others across the company over the years and we wish him the best.”

Been with the company 17 years? Bodes well for Romans fee-fixing investigation…
”Oh please Mr CMA…none of those naughty boys work for us any more”
And another one gone, and another one gone, another ones bites the dust…
The really interesting thing is whether the company is going to have (inadvertently or not) 1 culture rather than 2 cultures.
Beyond that cost savings are heaven for LR as every £1 increases the EBITDA and that’s the only reason for LR existing.
Romans seem to be taking the same path as Countrywide – losing the good people that made the business what it was.
