I worked at Spicerhaart over a decade ago and a branch sold a garage for £25k with a £2500 fee. They were top of the league charts for ages because they had a 10% fee when most branches average was around 1.5%. The same branch had to turn down a £10k fee on a £1m house because they were not allowed to list it at 1%. Would anyone else turn down a £10k fee?

Back in the 90s, working for Black Horse Agencies, I sold a repo property for the Princely sum of £800.

My Fee for doing so was £1000.  PLUS the 17.5% VAT, of course…
