Property listed on portal ‘not for sale’, owner tells watchdog

A property appeared on Zoopla – but was taken down after the owner of the house complained to the Advertising Standards Authority that it was not for sale.

The case was informally resolved after the agent, Move Inn Estates, provided the ASA with an assurance that the listing had been removed.

In a second informally resolved case, a complainant challenged a door drop leaflet distributed by Rain Properties trading as Property Purchased Fast.

The complainant challenged whether the claims, “As seen on: The Sunday Times, Daily Express, Evening Standard, CNN, thisismoney, The Independent and FT.com”, and “We are also registered with the ICO (Data Protection)” could be sustained.

The advertiser provided new evidence to substantiate that it was registered with the ICO.

The ASA instructed the advertiser that the use of logos of the various companies on the leaflet was misleading, and to make the necessary changes.

The penalties for driving a car are taken more serious! Another case of please don’t do it again. Ask a policeman, for every case they catch a criminal, is the tip of the criminals ice berg!

It will still have boosted their statistics.  “Look at how many properties we list.”  Job done.
