Sarah Edmundson

Estate and letting agents from across the property industry are being invited to take part in a charity walk this September in memory of Sarah Edmundson, while raising money for people affected by breast cancer.

Women in Estate Agency (WiEA) and Agents Together have formed a joint team, WiEA Together, to take part in the Thames Path Ultra Challenge on Saturday 12 September 2026.

The event will bring together estate agents, suppliers and other property professionals to complete either a 25km or 50km walk, with all fundraising supporting Breast Cancer Now.

The initiative honours Sarah Edmundson, the former CEO of Agents Together and a founding board member of WiEA, who was widely respected across the industry for her commitment to supporting people throughout their careers.

Participants will follow the Thames Path from Putney Bridge through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede and Windsor, with support provided throughout the challenge. Organisers say the event aims to unite the property sector in Sarah’s memory while raising vital funds for breast cancer research and support services.

Vicky Bibiris, chair of ambassadors at Agents Together, said: “Sarah believed in people. She believed in listening properly, supporting honestly and creating spaces where estate agents could feel less alone.

“Walking alongside Women in Estate Agency feels incredibly fitting because both communities share that same purpose.

“Anyone from across the property sector is welcome to join us. Whether you knew Sarah, have been affected by breast cancer, or simply want to spend a day doing something meaningful, we’d love you to walk with us.”

Danielle Nash, board member at Women in Estate Agency, commented: “WiEA has always been about community in action. Not just talking about support, but showing it.

“Sarah was part of WiEA from the start and helped shape the spirit of honesty, support and togetherness that still sits at the heart of our community.

“This walk is a chance for the industry to come together, honour Sarah’s memory, and raise money for a cause that affects so many women, families and communities.”

Amy Shields, WiEA board member, added: “For a community made up largely of women, the statistic that one in seven women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime is not just a number. It is our friends, colleagues, clients and families.

“This walk is for Sarah. It’s for the people we love. And it’s for everyone in estate agency who believes that showing up for each other still matters.”

Rebecca Highfield, senior events manager at Breast Cancer Now, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone taking part in the WiEA Together challenge.

“Every step walked and every pound raised will help Breast Cancer Now continue its vital work, supporting people affected by breast cancer today and funding life-saving research for the future.

“With your help, we can work towards our bold vision that by 2050 everyone with breast cancer will live and live well.”

Participants can choose from two distances:

25km route: £75 registration fee, with a minimum fundraising target of £250.

50km route: £119 registration fee, with a minimum fundraising target of £250.
